:cheer2:FYI: Autoweek magazine reports that Toyota will reduce the Prius price to match the Honda Insight price.

Thank you. I stand corrected--but we can always hope. The most encouraging text from the AutoWeek web site is reproduced below:

    "Aggressive U.S. pricing likely
Bringing the starting price down to Insight levels will steal Honda's thunder as purveyor of world's first affordable hybrid vehicle. Toyota's pricing strategy for the Prius in the United States is still unclear. But if Japan is any guide, it will be very aggressive."

After picking up my Prius last week in Toronto, my dealer is offering $2000 off and I know another dealer that is offering 3.9% financing rather than 4.9% on the 2009 model.

$2000 off would bring the 2009 down from CDN$27,500 to CDN$25,500

Looks like Toyota really wants to sell-off all of the remaining 2009's before the 2010 comes out.( maybe even before they announce the price). This might be a product of the Insight. We will find out the influence of the Insight in the next week or two. :)

Just bought a 2009 Prius at 0% APR or could have chosen the $1,000 cash back. They are wanting to sell them off.
