Prius towing

    folk think that a Prius can't tow anything. Well I am here to say I did not find that to be true. I have a 2012 Jet Ski that weighs about 1200lbs with the trailer and a full tank of gas. I towed it to Lake Tahoe last year. Had NO problem climbing up the 8,000+ grade and passed everything on the highway doing 75+mph. When I got to the lake, they told me that they had Never seen a prius on the boat ramp before. Went to a campground and with my sleeping bag in the back. I camped out for 2 days in the prius. Here are some pictures. If I can figure out how to load them.

    It's probably stressing the transmission and the brakes. Not advised.

    Toyota rates the Prius to tow zero pounds, I suspect there is a reason for that.

    The Prius has a unique drive systems that generates drive from two engines and not through an auto transmission that allows slippage. The auto offers many benefits but has many limitations unless your willing to pay the price to find out.
