Just bought the car last week and I am getting somewhat used to the "bells' and whistles" as a new Prius owner.
The owner's manual as well as the Nav/Entune manual describe the Tire Pressure Monitoring System as having not only an icon for low pressure on the dash indicator display, but "if equipped" a separate display on the Nav/Entune display which will give the readout for all tires including the low tire "when it senses a low tire condition" (taken from tme manual).

I thought my v-five was equipped with the second feature but it will not display when selecting the "Car" button on the panel. I tried deflating a tire and in fact the icon appeared on the dash,(for a low tire) but I still was unable to read individual tire pressures on the Nav/Entune display??

My dealer says the only place he has seen the individual pressure display was on a Highlander.

The Owners manual and other manuals on this car as well as my other Toyotas have always needed improvement. Can I find out whether I should get the second display by my Vin number?? Are some Prius v's equipped with the second system and others not?

I looked for individual tire pressure readings in my maxed out Prius v 5 w/ Adv. Tech Pkg to no avail. I even found the hidden menus and searched through them.

I did recently see a picture of a techstream (Toyota program used my dealers) with individual tire pressure readings. I didn't bookmark that one because it just seemed like too much work.

Don't look for daylight runnung lights either. It doesn't come on any Prius v (wagon) sold in USA.

Savery your manual claims you do but you don't. It was a last minute change by Toyota. I was very annoyed by this myself. I've never seen the individual readings either but wish I could. I have a v5 without the advanced tech package.

Yup, you get DRL because yours was sold in Canada. I have yet to hear from anybody in USA or Canada that they have the ability to read individual tire pressure built in.

That's a bummer about the DRLs. My wife's CSM/Dark Gray v5/Tech left Japan today.

What if you turn the light switch to AUTO, then cover the light sensor with something, then you will have DRL every time.

Just turn the lights on and leave them on. The will work like DRLs.

I bought my Prius V model five with advance tech pkg in January. I could of swore that I had the daytime running lights. I even called the dealer about it and was told to stop by which I did. Three guys looked and looked at the car to figure out why it wasn't working. They had to call Toyota Corporate and was told the lights were working the way they should. I just got off the phone with Toyota Corporate to verify this and was told that my car does not have DRL. I thought I had it in my car and I thought I saw this on the knob where the Auto mode is located. I could only turn them on manually though and I wanted them on during the daytime and not only when it gets dark for the auto mode to work. Now I was told that none of the Prius V's come with the DRL. I am really confused now. I used my husband's Prius IV to come to work today so I will now have to check when I get home.

I like how the v manual touts DRL's as a great safety feature and then they don't include them on the USA v's. Go figure.

Use Toyota's TechStream software to change the country of origin to Canada.

There is another thread here somewhere (can't link, on mobile now), that explains that the DRL is still there, but the switch is just missing. Apparently some people have just replaced the turn signal lever with one that has the DRL option and it works.

BTH, I too have a v three from SET and know nothing of a DRL option. More info please. What was the price of the distributor installed options on your car...maybe we can figure out a difference in our cars. Mine was a 2012 November purchase.

Not sure if this is where I should open this discussion but thought I'd comment on a recent flat tire on my prius v.I ran over a descending parking lot curb. By the time my tire was over the curb, my brand new (200mi) tire was flat, my rim had a chunk of metal gouged out and the rim and wheelcover were no longer round. This happened to be the rim and tire under the batteries. The rim is alloy and the batteries weigh at least 400 lbs. Am I safe driving this car seeing as all of this happened at less than 15 mph?

Well, my car does not have stem mounted switch. It appears that my DRLs are mounted in the what I think the fog light should be. That is, the circular lenses in the lower part of the grill. My DRL switch is located in the lower left part of my dash. Apparently, there can be four switch mounted there. Mine has one black switch hole cover and two tan switch hole covers. One hole contains the DRL switch. There is no fog light switch on the stem. My DRL remain lit while the low beam are lit or when the head lights of off. I alway leave the DRL switch in the ON position. The DRLs will go out when I turn on the high beams.

My SET v3 has the 4 switch blanks you describe as low left but the covers are all black and one of them is used for the rotating dial for the display/dash brightness, the other 3 are blank. I have no DRL switch. I have the vertical running lights but not the round lights in the outboard section of the grill.

My Sticker listed the following as Distributor Installed Options
AAUS2 USB Charger and cable $29.98
    BP3 Rear Bumper Protector $89
FP5 Southeast Toyota Distributor Plus 48 point quality inspection $0.00
    PV4 Carpet Mats $299
    TWAS7 Legal Window Tint for...NC $399
Total for distributor Installed Options $816.98

So we seem to have different option lists. Please look at you window sticker and see if the distributor added the DRLs or on your deal sheet to see if the dealer did it. I'd love to know what kit he used as I'll bet there is a standard kit from Toyota.

Good ol'-fashioned tire pressure gauge ($0.99 just about anywhere) works fantastic! Takes about 5 seconds per tire to use, which is a faster refresh rate than any TMPS system in any car built today! ;)
