Is it just me or is PriusChat slow these days?

For example to switch forums it takes me between 5 - 10 seconds. That is on both my work and home machines. It is like that for last few weeks, since the problems earlier this month.

    SLOW...? Sure is.....

It's almost like my DSL connection is back to "dial up." Looks as if PriusChat's server is somewhat overloaded.

I don't know if this is just coincidental but I'm experiencing problems with other sites as well. I'm even getting timed out on a couple of them.

I've been getting 2-3 second load times on most pages. Are there any in particular that you're having problems with?

    Danny,

Everything is slow. This page (I am typing this in the Quick Reply box) just took 14 seconds to load even though the Page generation time is shown as 5.0138s. I am on a T1 line that I just tested. It came back at 6733 kbps for the download and 3421 kbps for the upload. So, it is not an issue with my connection.

It was just as slow all weekend from home on a DSL line.

I agree, things are very slow to respond....once the page begins to appear the whole thing shows quickly, but there is a long delay from when you click to open a page and when it finally actually happens.

Priuschat was extraordinarily slow yesterday. I assumed Internet traffic and the large number of people on the forum (48+) was slowing things down.

Today I am on Internet II (piggy-backed with the Univ of California system) and things seem faster, although not that fast.

Agree - PriusChat is considerably faster today, I'd say just about right.

Glad things have picked up - I tweaked some settings in Apache and it looks like they worked.

I am getting page generation responses in the one second range (some faster) and an almost instantaneous display of the web pages after I click on the links.

Whatever you did, Danny, remember those tweaks in case of future slow downs.

    Thanks.

I always try to keep happy our resident unapproved ad watchdog :)

Hopefully this was the end of those terrible slowdowns. Let's get over 200 people on here and test it!

Sorry Danny - the site is painfully slow again.
And it's not on my end - PriusOnline is still lightning fast, as always.

Yep, I noticed page loads were somewhat slow earlier today. It appears to have deteriorated a bit more now, though.

I think sometimes you're catching it in the middle of Apache automatically restarting, which is causing pages to load slowly for you.

That's just a theory. I'm checking out other possibilities.

It must be something weird like that because it seems sort of inconsistent. For example, I tried posting to another thread and, initially, got timed out. Then, after hitting "post reply" again, I got an immediate response.
