I generally lean towards leaving design elements of a car unmodified, probably the art appreciator in me wanting to preserve the industrial designer's intent (jk-sort of), but every once in a while, I get an itch to change something. Ever since seeing these alleged spy photos of a Gen II update that never came, I've wanted projector headlights.

I've come across posts before about people wanting to fabricate projector headlights (no posts on success yet), but I haven't seen anything about these. As far as I can tell, they're fairly new to the aftermarket. I usually don't like how non-factory lights look, but being biased now that it's for my own car, I really like the look of these.

Has anyone purchased these or better yet, have photos of them installed? Unfortunately, I have HIDs and these have halogen fittings, so it's not an option for me unless it's modified. I almost want to downgrade just for these, especially after my second HID went out a year after the other one, and what a hassle it was trying to get Toyota to cover just part of the replacement cost.

Thanks for posting this. I might upgrade to this. It would be great to hear if anyone has done this before.

Also really interested in hearing from anyone who has done this mod. I would love to drop some HID projectors on (and while I'm at it, get the row of LEDs installed in the headlamp)

Ohhh... I like the look, but I haven't a clue about what this mod would
mean technically speaking. Is it plug and play?

At the eBay site, the picture of the assembly clearly shows
a great whacking hole where a bulb should be. What's up with that?

I've poked around the net and can't find anything that gives a good
presentation of projector headlights... forget Wiki.

Can anyone give a hand... a helpful site or a rundown on this
    technology?

Small projectors have the power for big lights. :0) The Acura TSX projectors are only 2.5 in diameter, but it produces amazing amount of intensity and spread. It was my best retrofit ever.

Now that these are out, retrofitting into Prius will be easier design-wise. Can't wait to get started.

Oh. Yeah, these projectors and the lenses by themselves - crappy, of course. They are quite bad - literally less intensity and spread than stock. There's no doubt about that. :0)

Design-wise, it makes retrofitting a lot easier. When these come down in price a bit more, I'm going to get to work with a pair of TLs and ZKW lenses. *drool*

And these cheapo projector/retro-fit lights maybe for off-road/car-show use only.
You may not want to mod something which is an essential safety-element (like the Headlights) on the car.....

The idea yunebug has is to purchase these lights and retrofit in some quality projectors, like say from a TSX.

did noone noticed that its only a low beam headlicht? I dont see any high-beam - even the description:

This is the hottest headlight set that you've been waiting for so long, with all the features in one unit , CCFL rim, projector low beam.

these headlights are mostly good for the housing, my guess is its a fresnel lens, so retrofitting TSX or S2000 projectors would be one of the best.

did someone bought them now? Just saw on Ebay that they have H9 bulbs behind the lens, so it has low/highbeam.

    ive installed them ;)

but damn i wish ive waited for the chrome version...

The highbeam is mady by a reflector inside the housing, so you dont even see it.

The connecting wire to the h9 bulb is cheap, my ones already burned after one month of use. Dealer will replace it, but if its the same quality... we will see

That looks cool. I am not familiar with the color of your Prius. I am guessing it is the camera white balancing issue.

Do you have HID or Halogen installed? I would like to see the cut off and the illumination to the side at night, if possible. Thanks.
