VW and Sanyo are teaming up to make batteries and systems for hybrid vehicles. Notably, they are also developing lithium-ion versions.

If Sanyo want 50% of the hybrid battery market by 2010, it means they think more than 50% of hybrids on the road will NOT be Toyotas! (which use Panasonics) Perhaps they are aware of programmes that we aren't ????
