Purchased 5/2007 - Do I amend my taxes? Or wait until next year?

    The tax return you filed in April is for last year (2006). You didn't buy your Prius last year, so no credit can be taken on the tax return you filed in April. Since you bought your Prius this year, then you will claim the credit when you file a tax return that covers this year, which will happen in April 2008.
