Well, this morning I found out that I won't be able to get the 2010 Prius until... 2010. At least February :(

Reason? I'm self employed, so I have to have a years worth of accounts and have them all verified by my accountant and have the financing people work with him for me to get any loans. Totally sucks...

Oh well I guess I'll be joining the fleet in 8 months then, hope y'all don't mind me kicking around here Priusless until then :p

You mean you actually have to be able to prove income to buy a car? Maybe the recession and effects of reckless lending finally have caught up to us... Still, that sucks. Don't worry. 8 months will fly by.

EDIT: Just noticed you're across the pond. I guess reckless lending is more of an American issue...

Yeah I have to show my business income for a year to show that it is sustainable and that I can afford to repay them back. This isn't a new thing for the UK, usually though you only had to show 3 months, now its an entire year! I don't know if this applies to all financial institutions, but if I want the lowest rates, then I have no option but to wait.

I guess its a good thing really, I can save up more for the deposit so my monthly payments will be lower :) Always some good in every bad.
