So yesterday I washed the car and decided to check the fluids. I hadn't checked the radiator fluid since I bought a year ago. I noticed that the reserve tank had no fluid in it. I then open the cap of the radiator and I could see some pink fluid showing but at the low point of the neck.

I looked and looked on the clear reserve tank for the lines mentioned online where the fluid should be between and it has none. Did the 2005 prius come with those lines? If the did, then I assume the container must be aftermarket. How much fluid should I out in it?

How about providing a photo of the radiator reserve tank.

If in doubt, fill the tank halfway as a start.

Check your engine water pump, you might have a leak. Look for pink crust on the water pump pulley, and pink splotches on top of the A/C compressor.
