So once in a while, after I park my car, turn it off, then open my door, the inside of the car would beep, as if I were to leave with the lights still on, except my lights are off. On the MID screen, there are no error messages. Sometimes it's one long beep (about 1.5 seconds) Occasionally it will be just repeating short beeps. Doesn't happen all the time, just once in a while. I have no idea what the beeps are. Anyone have any ideas?
One long beep is usually that you left the lights on or something. However, I too get the repeated short beeps which is usually what happens if you leave the keys in the car. I'd love to know what it means.
if you open your door before you turn off the car, it will beep signifying the car door was open when you turned it off. it turns off when the door is closed. Happens to me all the time. not sure about the long beep
It also beeps if you left the car in drive, left sunroof open. It stays on after you have closed the door (w a lock attempt) it will continue to beep until you undo the situation . The same goes for shutting the door leaving vehicle in drive and unoccupied. Only times it shuts off after a brief period without my doing anything are for things like.... Lights on, keys not detected, etc. and sunroof open.
If you get back in and correct your mistake and turn it off again it will do this also. Invariably, this happens to me when I forgot something.
Do you have the keyless key? It sounds like the car thinks the key is still inside. Maybe the other key?
Mine is keyless as well... I'll pay attention to that next time... I think I might also be opening my door just a split second before turning off the car... Haha I get out of my car pretty fast
