I am excited about Phoenix Motorcars. I have been keeping an eye on them and it looks like the Prius in that it is a 'no comprimise' car.

Bewteen them and tesla motors there seem to be a hope for an EV car in the 45000 range. As we need to change my wife's car in a couple of years we would def. buy one of these cars where they available in Boston

These are amazing batteries!!!

The biggest hurtle is getting people to give up there ICE, and that is just not going to happen on a large scale yet. So, what to do? Put these Nanosafe batteries in a PHEV! Just imagine! Expensive, sleek sports PHEVs with oversized motors silently going from 0 to 60 in four seconds, because they can. Big honking PHEVs 14'wide, 20' long and 15' high with only the driver in it silently cruising 3 blocks from home to Starbucks, and beautiful midsized PHEVs silently stuck in traffic with several different drivers thinking, "You know I better get to a gas station soon because it has been a month since my last fill up."

That is when most will be willing to give up their ICE, but not until then as it is so ingrained into our culture. These batteries are great and they would be better used in PHEVs right now.

Sigh. Our own, ancient "nice but impractical" EVs have been our vehicle of choice for six years now. We currently have a wonderful 2006 Prius at our disposal... and today, just like yesterday, the day before, and the weeks before that - it is parked in the garage while we drive an EV for 95% of our trips. Why do we need to continue to propogate this BS!? Grrr. But I digress...

The potential of these batteries is awesome. I wish them all the best, because if the promises pan out, we're in for some amazing product. Please be aware that these batteries are NOT yet commercialized, however. No real specs have ever been made public. We in the EV community are "cautiously optomistic" about the Altair batteries. Phoenix at least has a bit of history of actually putting some EVs on the road - though not very many at this point. As I said - I do wish them the best, and hope the promises can be fulfilled.

There's a thought that'll scrare the crap out of more than just a few folks!

it's really a korean made car, im skeptical of the safety ratings? Not because it's a korean made car but such a different brand.
