bought 2 fairly new prius', both salvage. 1 flooded from Katrina, the other was a roll over. Pulled motor and transmission from the roll over and put in the one that was flooded. The HV battery in the rollover is dead and the flooded one is of no use, both inverters are useless. Need inverter for 2002, all information on how to charge battery would be appreciated. No Toyota dealer in Beaumont Texas is able to charge it.

Prius inverters are often offered on eBay, usually by LKQ or other salvage vehicle dismantlers.

There is a yahoo group called _Prius_Technical_Stuff. If you join that you will connect with most of the people who are 'doing batteries'

Is there perhaps a safety switch that shuts off the battery if it is turned upside down? With the flooded one, it's a sealed unit, water should not have gotten in. Has it been allowed to sit and self-discharge ever since the flood?
