I have an S2 and the MAP works when it wants to.

Do you use the standard messaging program? I use handsent and I can go into messages and hit play and such, but it won't notify me when i get a message. I kinda assume its because i am not using the base messaging program.

There are no AT&T Galaxy S III in stock is my city, not the AT&T store, Costco or Walmart. I'm in my impulse buying stage. They better get it in stock before my cooling off period. By that time, maybe I'll just wait for the 5" full HD 1080P Galaxy S IV running Key Lime Pie.

It probably would work. The only main phone that is not compatible seems to be the iPhone 4s.

Feature for feature & apples to apples, I still don't understand why Samsung bothered to release the 3. I mean it's an okay smartphone - but honestly - It's sImply a cheaper versIon of the galaxy I'm already using. Both phones can Be hacked to run on t mobile - and since they're my carrier - that's what I had to do.

Why wait? The 1.5ghz dual core 5.3" 1080 rez Galaxy Note has been available for about 5 months. Rooted & unlocked, it runs on all SIM based systems, not just the AT&T it was built for, and there's already great ROM's for running it on ICS. Mine overclocks to 1.9gzh - but it gets too warm running over 1.7ghz. There are a TON of big bright fast toys on the market. Think Ebay!

Mine has been working fine too. It's quite an upgrade from the original I had... lots of improvements in just 2 years.

The larger physical size turned out to be an unexpected liking as well. I thought it might be a bit too bulky.

Galaxy Note uses S3 processor which is slower than S4. The S4 dual core performs almost as good as the Exynos and Tegra quads. The note is not 1080P. It's WXGA. I'm talking about this screen LG Display debuts five-inch Retina Display killer with 1080p HD resolution and 440ppi pixel density -- Engadget The next note is reported to have 5.5" Not sure what resolution though.
I went to Costco to upgrade my phone and was told hat I had to give up my unlimited data because my data is bundled with 1500 text. In order to get the data to work on the SIII, I had to unbundle the unlimited data and 1500text and move to tiered data and unlimited text. I ended up canceling my upgrade.

Aren't the quads still unavailable in the U.S. ? Most of the ads I've read show they team the quads with skimpy features - lower screen rez - less loadable memory - smaller screens. I don't get that, but I'm guessing it's because running 5"+ screen size, coupled with blazing processors sucks battery life. Oh, and BTW yes, the Galaxy note's 5.3" AMOLED screen IS 1080 rez:

It's contrast is pretty excelent too. And for the OP, another confirmation - yes these latest toys work fine w/ entune

At 6'-5" - my shirt pockets are perportionally large anyway. So the 5.3" wide screen sized phone still fits. But if they're now going to 5.5" and bigger? Forget it.

Just ordered an S3 that should be here tomorrow or Monday, I will post an update.

With the Epic Touch 4g (Galaxy 2) running cyanogen 9 on it, I get texts on the HU as well as the contact pictures come though the HU as well.

No email. No album art via bluetooth.

quads are not available because there's no quads that support LTE radio at the time of their release. That's why had had to use the Snapdragon S4 chip. The original spec of the S3 is quad with 1GB of RAM. Since the US variants must have LTE, they use S4 dual chip and increase the RAM to 2GB to compensate the processor. The screen stayed the same.
1080P is 1080X1920 not 1280X0800. 1280X800 is a variant of WXGA which considered 720P. There are no phones out with 1080P screen, only tablets. 1080P video outs, yeah. The US Note uses the same screen as the international which is 720P. The next Note rumored to have 5.5" WSXGA+ display with thin bezel so the physical size stay the same while increase display size.

Wow, surprised to see bielinsk steppin' up - excited to see your feedback! Haven't had a chance to buy mine yet, but when I read above I started to think Galaxy Note. Also, I keep my HD2 at full brightness, all the time, the GS3 seemed to be dim campared to it at the T MOBILE store (I played around with 1 for a while).

Phone arrives tomorrow, so i will test it out this weekend and let ya know.

Bielinsk, any update on your gs3?

Everything seems to be working great, I haven't received any texts yet so not sure about that. Connects and reconnects flawlessly each time. Pandora is fine, iHeart radio, all work.

Texts do not seem to appear on the HU with the GS3.

Contact photos do not appear on the screen.

I am sure once I load up Cyanogen 10 that all will work again.
