Saturday Nov 11th - Jose Tejas in Fairfield, NJ

If anyone is interested in meeting on Saturday, November 11th in the rear parking lot of Jose Tejas in Fairfield, NJ (on Route 46 west bound - near the Willowbrook Mall) I will be there at 12 NOON.

I'm also thinking of doing a mileage challenge on one of these events.

I would like to propose doing some sort of Mileage Challenge for one of our meets (if not the next one).

-We would set a certain route to follow and then each of us driving the exact same route to see who gets the best mileage over that course.

Who is interested in doing something like that?

Not sure if I'll be able to make it yet. The challenge sounds interesting, though. How would you account for traffic? I've never been able to P&G for very long because there's always someone coming up behind me.

It would be nice to have a route that allows for some P&G time, but around here there are also lots of hills, which are another sort of challenge. Of course we would have to deal with normal traffic in the area, but that's part of everyday driving so I don't think that should be a problem.

How many miles should the course be for this? I have an idea for part of the route but I don't know how far people would want to ride for this.

As for the "challenge"... will this occur before or after beer?

In other news, I'm really excited. My DICE iPod Integration Unit has shipped. Hoping to get it this week. Going to dig around and see if the installation instructions are available online.

I'll do my best to stop by and introduce myself (owner of 1 and a half month old Prius), but can't guarantee it due to possible travel soccer game for my daughter. Probably won't have time (this time) to participate in a mileage challenge, but this sounds like a GREAT idea.

Checked my schedule and there's nothing preventing me from coming. So I'll be there!

Well, a good time was had by all. All being me & Rand. No big deal, though ... we had a good time hanging out at the bar. Rand took a couple pictures of the cars, but we didn't get any of us with them. We couldn't find a kindly farm stand employee.
