Well the latest mod i did to Scoots is a Cold Air Intake, After reading most of the Pro/Con posts on here about performance gains with the Injen CAI on the Prius, I deiced "What The Hell" It looks Awesome and we love the sound at acceleration. The instal was supper easy, It took longer to take out the the Toyota Air Box than it took to instal the Injen CAI. The INJEN Cold Air Intake : Before : The Toyota Air Box out : The INJEN Cold Air Intake:
Hate to break it to you but that's a hot-air intake, not a cold-air intake. But hot air has a better chance of improving fuel economy than cold air (air is less dense which means wider throttle openings for the same power output which means pumping losses should be lower), though with the Prius' Atkinson cycle engine it may not make much of a difference.
Like i said, I read alot of Pro/Cons on here about it. Sounds and looks great thats why we did. If i really cared about performance i wouldn't have put 18x8 Rims on her. :alien: Fog Lights are next .............
Yep, I have it on mine too. No difference....EXCEPT the sound under throttle....which does sound MUCH better.....and you have a laugh when someone asks; "What's under the hood?"
The sound is Awesome for a Prius  But i realy half to change out that ABSOLUTE EMBARRASSING HORN :smash:
If you mean it is quieter than stock, I am interested. I do not think you can get a 'cold air' intake on an Atkinson cycle engine, the Atkinson cycle pukes hot air back into the intake manifold by design. If you could, this is not it, as it gets air from the engine compartment, which is quite a bit hotter than outside air. Stock intake:
Someone needs to figure out how to replace the spaceship sound, with a guy's voice making vvvvroooom vvvrooom noises. ound:
