I rather stupidly backed into a garage wall in my barely month-old Blizzard Pearl Prius, and now there's a scratch on her rear panel. Do y'all think it's worth repairing, and if so, should I attempt it myself or should I take it to a body shop? I'm a little worried it'll rust and get worse later if I don't.
Oh god d car has really been scratched on its rear panel. It's sad to know. I could see d black ones as well as d other white patches. From viewing I can observe dat it can be removed but vl take a lot of time and hard effort. Now I have parked my car in garage but soon will give it for repair. I hope it may come out with scratches.
Go to the Toyota parts and service dept. they can sell you paint to touch up this kind of scratch..... I've had similar scratch and things have worked out fine so far.
Assuming that's the rear bumper corner, it's PVC so no rust worries. Depending how particular you are, you may be able to repair yourself to a close-enough state. I'd get some rubbing compound to polish out the scuffs that didn't penetrate the color coat, and for the areas where it's showing black, get a bottle of touch up paint from the dealer. Apply a **very light** coat and allow to dry 10 minutes to let paint shrink, and see what you think. Apply another very light coat if necessary. It may turn out that the damage is more than you can repair satisfactorily yourself, but it's probably worth investing $10 - $15 in paint and rubbing compound to give it a try.

My car had the same damage after a girl somewhat side-swiped the corner of my rear bumper cover. The cost to repair would have been just a little more than $600. I took the money. You can't see the scratch unless to get real close (I have the metalic blue color). But the scratch is much easier to see on your silver car. If you decide to go the touch up paint route, don't forget a couple of thin coats of clear coat at the end.
