    Date Ordered: 2005 Jan 31
Dealer Ordered From (Incl. City/State): Toyota Carlsbad (CA)
Timeframe given for delivery: 4 to 6 months
    Color: Seaside Pearl
    Option Package: #1
    Your # on Dealer's Waiting List: ~200

Dealer is getting 40 cars a month.
They have a demo (Driftwood #6) if you haven't driven a Prius.

Sounds like Seaside Pearl is seriously sought-after near the seaside in San Diego County.

Toyota Carlsbad called 2005 Apr 4 and said they had a Seaside #3 and #6 available, but all we need is a #1. It's encouraging, however, since it's just over 2 months since I got on the list. :)

We took delivery on April 26th, after waiting just under 3 months.

It was good to keep our sales tax dollars in our home town.

After driving a 5-speed manual for 35 years, it's sure different, but definitely cool!

FYI: for anyone else reading this, I want to clarify that statement about sales tax... your sales tax dollars go to your county via Sacramento. It doesn't matter where you purchase a car or truck... that's why we all ask "what county do you live in" because we collect sales tax and license based on the county of residence... and send it off to SAC who dispurses it back to the COUNTY you reside in, less the state's cut.

    Dianne,

God forbid you'd confuse anyone with the facts.

Just clarifying. If someone wants to travel for a car, they should know to not fear their county, state, or town losing something ... their local dealership's city retains a small percentage of the tax on each sale, but in balance, how many folks from outside the area will buy parts or servcie or cars there too? It matters not... :>
