I can't figure out how to set the top dash clock up near where the energy monitor is displayed. The clock in the nav system is set properly, but they are apparently separate. It seems like it would be in the Settings but after running through it a hundred times I can't find it. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Just to the left of the pictured part of the dash you'll see the "H M :00" buttons for the dash clock. It does seem a little Cro-Magnon that they are separate. But I guess the NAV clock comes from GPS which might not always be available or something.

If I remember correctly, the button on the steering wheel to change the display is used to navigate to a screen that say "Setup". I can't remember if the trip button is used, but I think there are 3 or 4 different screen that you can rotate though. I believe one of them is to set the date.

I hope I'm pointing you in the right direction :)

I still cannot understand why the Nav system clock and the dash clock are not integrated. Yes, the Nav clock is set from GPS, but generally with GPS-set clocks like this, you just let it run on its own and occasionally make minor corrections using GPS.

My guess is to allow for a Prius Plug-in trim that has no navigation, but still has timer-based charging sometime in the future.

You don't need to do anything but use the hour and minute buttons on the dash to set the clock that you are describing. Once it is set, if it is a few seconds fast you can reset the the hidden seconds to the start of the minute, or "00." I have no idea where in the manuals you would find the instructions, but having had Toyotas and a Lexus for years, I've done this before. Since this is the clock that you use to set the charging timer, which needs to be easy to do, I'm guessing this is why it is separate from the more challenging system on the other screen.
Edit: In the main owner's manual, see page 87 for instructions on setting the charging timer for start/finish time. It doesn't spell it out, but one would assume that the clock showed the current time prior to setting the start or finish time for charging.;) I leave the other display on "audio" because my iPod is constantly on, and I don't use the nav or Entune. For that reason, I don't look for any time display there.
I just realized the OP is talking about an Advanced trim model. Maybe that whole system is different from the base? If so, I apologize for the above.

The dash stuff is the same on the Advanced and Basic, as far as I can tell.

They really need to make it clear that the "start" timer and the "end" timer are two unrelated timers, and you activate one or the other. I wonder how many people interpret it as an interval "charge between the start and the end time"?

In the Basic, setting the Time is easy enough, but setting the Date is a pain. You have to use the steering wheel controls and it takes a few tries to figure out their interface.

In the OP's picture, the dash buttons to the left of, and under, the radio pow/vol button are completely different from the ones I have in my basic trim model.

Life is full of ironies :)

I figured out how to get this set, thanks. Those buttons were exactly behind the steering wheel in my line of sight.
