    Bare with me please...

    1) Does any one have any experience replacing the antenna on a 2008 (or any year-I don't like the present style) Prius with a shark finn antenna?

2 Has anyone used "5 Star Shine" instead of wax on the car? It is supposed to last 5 years, and for what it costs, it should>

    3) What is the sensor located on the passenger side of the dash for? It appears as a little box stuck on the dash with a wire going into the dash.

    4) What is the device under the passenger front seat?

    5) Regarding the PSD, does the planet carrier slide in and out of the ring gear on command, or are they stationary?

    6) Where can I find out what "package" my Prius is? I looked, could find nothing, and made an educated guess when I registered.

Yes. It gives poorer reception (usually) than the stock antenna.

Probably the amplifier for the sound system.

    Stationary.

Package five should have voice activated navigation, backup camera, HID headlamps, but not leather seats.

The box with wire on the passenger side dash is probably your satellite radio receiver.

The planet carrier does not slide in and out, but it is not stationary either. It spins with the internal combustion engine. MG1 attaches to the sun gear, the planet carrier is connected to the ICE, and the ring gear is attached to MG2 and the drive train.

Thanks one and all! I got 5/6 questions answered. Anyone know about the 5-Star Shine?

Ask this question on the forums at autopia.org. These guy are seriously into detailing, and will have at least one strong opinion, probably more.

I'd question any product that claims to last 5 years. Personally, I picked up some Zaino products on the recommendation of other PC'ers and I'm pretty happy with them. A search should turn of lots of opinions and lots of pictures of people's shiny cars :)
