Anyone in the Bay Area actually reading this thread? Anyone going besides me?

Last year the excitement, imho, was primarily over getting to drive the Prius PHV. That's trivial to do now in the Bay Area, as every dealer has at least one, and some have 10+ sitting in their lots.
Furthermore, I haven't seen any info in terms of what's actually going to happen at the expo this year. Is Toyota going to bring the RAV4 EV for test drives? Avalon Hybrid? These are things that would really bring people to the show.

Yeah, last year was great because of the announcements and being able to drive unreleased vehicles (PiP, v wagon and '12 HyCam).

It doesn't seem like there will be any big announcements this year. :/

I can't even get free tickets for myself (yet?), AFAIK. I'm not sure if we'll see another post leading to free tickets like last year. Hope so...

I flaked on Marisa's birthday last year to go to GDE but this year I couldn't do it. I rented a cabin in Tahoe for a family reunion so make up for it. So unfortunately I won't get to see everyone this year.

That means Michael has to put together another Bay Area PC Meet & Greet!

priuschat code doesnt work anymore? Last year the code was not advertised but it still worked.

Sorry Cwerd, I will be running in the Ragnar Relay during the expo. Maybe next year. =O

I wonder if the organizer is going to chime in w/free tickets. I also wonder whether the Rav4 EV will be available for test drives this time.

It'd be nice if Tesla shows up and offers Model S test drives. Unfortunately, I'd imagine the wait would be insane, unless they had a whole ton of cars.

Ok, I received an email w/a code for a free ticket. From the code, I highly doubt it's personalized.

Is this show really good?

well last year, it gave you an opportunity to see the v, test-drive the PHV and HyCam, as well as the Volt and Leaf. They also had a prototype RAV4 EV there along with some enthusiast mods (like the custom plugin priuses). The program for this year still hasn't been announced, so who knows?

Idk if worth making the drive from Los Angeles.

Doubtful IMHO
