My wife talked to the dealership today (April 27, 2004), and we are number 59 on the list. Ouch, I thought, but she said the order person she spoke with said that's not bad at all. He said that they get about 30 of the vehicles per month. That allotment seems high to me, but what the heck do I know. That would put us on track for our initial estimate of a 3 to 4 month wait. Who knows, I just can't wait to get the car. I'm sick of seeing them whiz by me in the HOV lanes.

I am a repeat Koons buyer, and would not hesitate to recommend them. They have taken excellent care of me in the past, going above and beyond my expectations.

I placed an order for a package #7 from them at the end of January and they called in March to offer me one, although it was the wrong color. I do think they get a lot of vehicles in because of their sales numbers. Can't comment on anything else about them. I ended up getting a package #9 from Danville Toyota (about 5 hours south) at the end of March, so I called and canceled my order from Koons. They refunded my money with no questions asked and were very nice about it. I plan on taking my car there to get it serviced.

I ordered the same color/package from Tysons Toyota the day before. I was going to make my monthly call to the inventory manager next week but based on your post, I know where I am on the list. I'll let you know when mine comes in, or maybe they will come in at the same time.

Cool, I'm glad I posted the info. Just out of curiosity, what number were you on the list the last time you checked?

Update - June 11, 2004

I got a call from Koons today. I have a new sales rep, as the one I dealt with initially is no longer with Koons. That's cool, this guy sounded very nice.

Anyway, he told me not to expect my Prius until August or September. Ugh. He said I am number 28 on the overall Prius list, and number 13 for the silver #9 package.

Looks like we are making progress. I spoke to the inventory manager earlier in the week. I ordered my Ag#9 the day before you. I am number 19 overall, and 11 for silver. I was told they were not getting as many silvers as they used to. According the the numbers I received last month, it looks like they only got 4. Not very encouraging. Next allocation list will be released 06/18.

The Wait is Over

I took the advise of the wise people on PriusChat and went looking out in the countryside for the elusive Silver #9. I got lucky in WV and drove it home yesterday. I was so overwhelmed with joy, that I didn't notice the awful dealer advertisement/decal/placard thingy on the back. Does anyone know how to remove the insidious creature without damaging the paint?

If it's a mylar sticker, careful use of a hair dryer to apply a little heat can help.

waiting for delivery

Does anyone have info about how long the wait has been for those currently getting their Priuses ?
I ordered in mid Januarary and my dealer can not tell me anything definite. He says cars are not made to order and he just has to wait until one that meets my specs is delivered to him.

Are there some people still waiting on Koons Tysons?

I just went down there yesterday and they informed me there is no longer a list at their site....They did have 2 in stock, but at 4K over MSRP. just curious if this is true down there or I got a bad salesman.
