Why is this server so slow all the time? Sometimes I can't even get into the forums. I thought the server was upgraded but it doesn't seem like it.
It's a linux box, right? Has anyone gone through and turned OFF all the annoying network sysctls, such as ECN and rfc1323 and wscale, that are often responsible for screwed-up network connections? . _H*
There was a problem with a CPU intensive batch process running at around 6pm last night. I put a trouble ticket in with the server host and had a reply within 8 minutes. They changed the time for that batch to run from 6pm to the middle of the night. Let me know if you see anymore problems.
Several times after I posted a reply to a thread, I see a misspelled word or typo and used EDIT to go back and correct this (usually Quick Edit)........... well out of I would say, the past six times or so, during the last three days, it really "hangs up" (over three minutes) during this simple operation......... then other times it is lightning fast........ figure it out ?? Obviously Server is very "busy" doing other more important tasks and the "quick edit" is a very low server priority at those times........... it just happened to me last, about 15 minutes ago (10:30 AM E.S.T.) ??
