    Hi,

Could some of our Northern Prius friends report:

    • MPG hit vs 0C and below temperatures
    • MPG hit vs. snow and ice roads
Living in North Alabama, I'm at least four months away from being able to do similar tests. Something like this would help:
    miles|MPG|avg mph(or kph)|temp
    ___|___|___|___(F or C)
    .

    Thanks,
    Bob Wilson

I'll work on supplying this info for the Baltimore area (we're really more "wintry mix birds" here, but...). I keep spreadsheets both for FE and weather. I haven't been recording avg speed per tank; good idea--I'll start doing it now.

Aside; one thing I've noticed--I'm sure it occurs with all cars but is new to me because this is the first one I've owned that gives real-time feedback--there appears to be a noticeable and large mpg hit from *rain*. Makes sense, liquid water being denser than air and all, but I hadn't even given it a thought until I started paying attention.

Anyhow, I'll crunch some numbers (maybe a month at a time; data back to June) and get back via this thread. If the thread shows signs of fading away, PM me.

    Cheers,
    Tim

    Hi Bob,

You are welcome to use this link to my ecomodder.com fuel logs to put towards your graphing. While I do not record trip by trip stats I do have tank stats that include average temperature for each tank over the course of "x" number of days. Generally, this gives me a picture of the tank in terms of temperature (averaging out cold and warm days). I keep this log up to date so down the line you can use the info for winter stats as you wish if you find it helpful.

Thanks for all of the info. you provide to this forum!
