So, in order to buy a PIP you have to order it?

I noticed in Lum's Toyota, Warrenton, Oregon, they
have a dark gray Prius Plug in, the expenisive model
in the 40,000 range. They have also a white
PIP in the 32,000 range, which they currently use
    as a rental car.

I believe the dark gray Prus is for sale for anyone who has the bucks
    to buy it.

Yes, Toyota has pretty much filled all the pre-orders now and dealers will be starting to work down their list of buyers who have ordered through them but were not part of the pre-order group. Cars are now starting to show up in dealer inventory so you should be able to find a PIP at a local dealer in the near future.

I just wonder how much extra the $8,000.00 gets you
for the expenisve PIP over the base PIP model?

About $2,000 dollars worth of upgrades. Maybe the Radar Cruise Control makes it $2,500.

The split looked like 30/70, Adv/Basic. So there's that factor, too.

If you are interested on a Plug in, I do have a couple of them available, just let me know. No need to order.

I jumped online Thursday night googling inventory, started an online chat with the guys at Hollywood Toyota and Friday 9am I was in there buying the car.

I had an order at Cerritos but its been 3 weeks since my car hit port so I figured rather than deal with dealer drama take my business elsewhere...Im sure my car was sold.

$2,500 federal tax credit + $1,500 California rebate cuts down the price diff.
