I bet they haven't read June's Popular Mechanics. They took a brand new Challenger, beefed up the engine to over 500 hp. Then, they stuck a 300V electric motor on top of that to provide another 125 hp and massive torque of course.

Luckily, the cats out of the bag - so to speak - and there's enough Priuses on the road now to get the story out that the Prius is pretty much a normal car that just happens to get great gas mileage.

Unfortunately, many drivers are still determined to believe these types of flat out lies even though friends, co-workers, family, etc. are telling them the opposite (of what Spike is dishonestly reporting).

In this case, the best reply would be a link to the U-tube short about the 'pimp' sneaking up and 'cappin' his competition. <grins>

Personally, I've often chuckled at the fact that Spike believes thats the kind of television "men" want to watch.

These morons love to quote a highway MPG rating to compare with a hybrid. Whateva. Quote an average MPG with that Dodge.

The Gen2 car takes a lot of crap. Doesn't help when a bunch of big dudes sit in it and think OMG this is cramped.

The Gen 3 car will dowse the flames for sure. More power, more space, bigger seats, more room in front seats ....

these are huge gains for the Prius.

And notice what Toyota said in the first commercial ...

'You get more power and more space ...
