Got mine in now, everyone was right..... 6 min to install and I had to find a srewdriver to boot.

    This shifter is great.......................

One question (I'm not going to try this)
Can you accidently shift into R while driving in D or B?

If that happens, the transmission will shift into neutral. According to Stage 10:
I ordered the silver/green combo. Should be getting mine next week

I back out of the driveway in R and at the end while still rolling hit D, it doesn't go to N it drives forward.

maybe that's because of how slow I'm still rolling backwards but since it didn't go to N like what I've read before I ordered it I started thinking "what if"

From what I remember, the stock shifter behaved the same way (because I'm pretty sure I've done what you described). And from what I read (here), the stock shifter also goes into N if you try to hit P or put it in R while the car is moving (probably at speed like you said).

Finally found 10 minutes and dropped mine in. Silver and green. I'm loving it!

One thing I noticed: you can't put the car in any gear - even N - if the parking break is on.

My standard start-up procedure is: boot up, foot on break, car in D or R, release parking break, foot off break and on gas, go. That worked fine with the little joystick. With the Stage 10 in, when I tried to put the car in any gear I got three short beeps. I actually took the whole thing apart again and checked all of the connections before it occurred to me to release the break. Yeah.

That's why it took me 10 minutes instead of 6.

I don't think I have ever used my parking (emergency) brake in either the 2006 or the 2012.

I've always used the p brake.......its a habit. Don't want the extra stress on the motor/tyranny mounts on any of My cars.

I've always use the parking brake with all of my cars. It's just habit.

The owner's manual even says to do it in the order I mentioned above.
Start: foot on brake, turn on, D or R, release p-brake, foot off brake, gas.
Stop: foot on brake, set p-brake, P, turn off.

I'm obviously going to have to slightly change my habit. But I think I can get used to it. :)

Here's mine. The green is different. It's a greener green, while the other buttons are a yellow green. It shows better in the daytime picture. I don't mind the difference. As someone mentioned, the green in the Stage 10 matches the green on the MFD.

    Looks great!

I installed the carbon fiber in blue.

That green does flow nice with the rest of the display, Did you cover the LED "light from above" for this picture?

After driving around last night I noticed that the higher gloss on the carbon fiber created a bit of a glare with the LED, I'm going to cover it with tape to see if I like that better, if so I'll disconnect the power to the LED.

Thanks. Yes, I just stuck my thumb over the LED "light from above" because it created glare at the camera angle. It's fine when I'm driving, though. The lower gloss on the silver keeps the glare to a minimum.
