    Hello

I sort of doubt it, But It's worth asking anyhow. I asked the dealer, he said no. But it was sort of a quik brush me off kind of answer, so I thought I would ask some of you NY owners about it .

    Thanks in Advance...............................Wojo

Nope, it ran out in 2006 for the prius. I am unaware of any ny specific rebates. You can get your carpool stickers for the LIE and your green ez pass but that's nothing compared to a nice hefty rebate.

There was a rebate in 200i9 of the sales tax. I don't know if this still exists. Also, getting a "green" EZ-Pass will save a couple of bucks. In Huntington, having a free "green" sticker allows us to park without feeding the meter,. and to park free at the LIRR stations, without an additional sticker.

Could you explain? I currently have an EZ-Pass. What is and how do I get a "green" EZ-Pass?

AFAIK, there are two "Green EZPass" discounts available - one from the NYS Thruway Authority which gives you greater discounts on the NYS Thruway, and one from the NY-NJ Port Authority which gives you greater discounts during off-peak hours on the Port Authority's bridges and tunnels.

You can get one or both Green EZPass discounts for free, all attractively programmed and enclosed in one cool looking, green-colored transponder (a lot better looking than the pasty white of the standard EZPass). I got my Green EZPass by filling out and sending in an application for EZPass which I had downloaded from the NY EZPass website. Others have gotten theirs by applying for it at EZPass offices.

No tax credit for the standard cordless Prius. However, the upcoming Prius PHV (plugin) should qualify at least $2,917.

That's $2917 in New York in addition to Fed Tax Credit?

Nope, I was referring to the federal tax credit.

For those that have the Green EZ pass......

I cross the Delaware Water Gap on 80 between NJ and PA, GWB and I travel on the turnpike. I have my Green EZ Pass but I'm not seeing any discounts. I've verified the correct tag is being used.

    Am I missing something?

I just signed up for this Green pass. I can't figure out if Port Authority recognizes the NY Thruway green pass. The ny site says the discount is on the thruway.

That's because the Green pass is ONLY for the NYS Thruway. As stated, no other discounts can apply. I use the green pass when I travel on the Thruway. When I used it on my normal commute, across the FDR Mid-Hudson Bridge, I did not get my usual commuter discount. Later that week, when I realized, I went back to the normal EZ Pass, and get my discount.

When I posed the problem of using the green pass on the Thruway, then having to switch it out when going over the Hamilton Fish, Beacon-Newburgh Bridge, I was essentially told, "tough luck." They said that I could use the green pass on the bridges, but would only get my discount if I used the normal EZ pass.

    What a crappy policy!

Yeah, I agree, its crappy at best. If they are going to offer a discount to 'us' make it available on our account which affects the ez pass we currently have. Issuing more units for this discount is so useless. Typical though, I wouldn't expect perfection from a bureau such as ez pass in nyc

OH, what a waste, I wasted a stamp sending for a useless green tag.
Don't drive much on the thruway anymore. I need one for NJ.
