Tax credit

    Ok, this is my first contribution...or question. I have a 2006 Prius loaded (nav, leather, all the goodies) I want a new barcelona red prius. BUT, how long must I keep the Prius I have now not to lose the tax credit. I got 3150 credit for buying the car, but dont know how long I must keep it before I buy a new Prius...

    Welcome to the site. Although I have looked for a recapture clause I have not found one. The rules say you have to buy the car and put it in service. They don't say you have to keep it. IMO you can sell it anytime you want without penalty.
