    As the previous entry intimated, the world’s #1 automaker maintains its global dominance on the strength of its top-notch sedans and innovative hybrids. At the top of the lineup sits the Prius with its sleek design and industry-best 60 mpg on the highway and 51 in the city. But just when you thought the news couldn’t get any better for Toyota, it turns out that the Japanese automaker has a 100 mpg Prius in the works for 2009....

    Sorry, this is old news. The 100mpg is determined by a method used by the Japanese government. The same method rates the present Prius at about 90mpg. I have previously read on Priuschat the Toyota's goal for the 2009 Prius is a 12.75% mileage improvement, which is specific enough that I think it might be true..

    AND the 60 / 50 is now been reduced to about 12% by the new EPA test. So around 44 mpg avg city with AC at 50%

    Although the city/highway is reversed. The mileage is best at non-highway(i.e., non-freeway) speeds.
