Wow, I was just looking around Toyota's website and under upcoming vehicles they updated it to show a pic of the new 2013 Avalon.

I always thought the Avalon looked too plain and old personish, even though they gear it for that audience. From this pic it looks like they may be learning something from the Hyundai styling department.

Yeah I'm really impressed with the new Avalon. The last iteration was nothing more than a refresh (Even though they called it a new model... come on now, it has the same interior as the 2005 model!). Maybe now it can actually draw some buyers away from Buick, Cadillac and Lincoln and maybe some potential Maxima buyers.

Up til now, I figured if you wanted an Avalon and can sacrifice a few features (like memory seats), a Camry XLE V6 can be had for thousands less. Note that we never got the Avalon Limited in Canada for the last generation; we only got the XLS w/ nav & JBL.

Still no hybrid, even though, as I have said, the Camry and the ES based on the same platform will now have it. That is what I am waiting for. Calty did a good job with the redesign.

And what engine would that be? Toyota isn't going to certify a new engine just for one model.

I'd probably take a stab that it'll be the same 3.5L

    Probably a good stab imo.
