So, that said, there are still lots of apparently dumb people with money to burn signing up and waiting 6 months to get a Prius. Not sure what the wait is for a Ford Taurus or a Hummer.......

    Point? . . . Sarcasm.

The longest you will ever have to wait for a Taurus or Hummer really depends on knowledge and skill of the mechanic.

I'm confused here, Bob. Who are the dumb ones?

You say, "dumb people with money to burn signing up and waiting 6 months to get a Prius." I waited 7 months but have realized no damage to my intellect.

Well guys, If you are going to take what Bob Allen wrote literally . . . you may also want to ponder the meaning of the “On Vacation†under his avatar.

I was being sarcastic, folks. We "dumb ones" managed to get the hottest car in the country right now; a vehicle probably ten years ahead of anything American. If we're the "dumb ones" for doing that, then it only follows that the "smart ones" are driving yesterday's technology GM and Fords , getting 18 mpg, and grousing about gas prices.

p.s. I have no idea where the "On Vacation" came from on my avatar.

well the wait for a Hummer would be about 2 days for the first trip to the shop, then one afternoon for the 2nd trip to the shop, then...

So that makes the Hummer the safest car on (er not on) the road! :D

yep Hummers are very safe... only known accident to date happened due to failure of the hydralic system at the shop the resulted in crushing a mechanic.

also recently the hummer created a new failure category in the 35 mph front end crash test. that was failure to attain and maintain 35 mph WITHOUT dropping parts BEFORE the impact...
