Timing Chain

    Does the Gen III have a timing chain or belt? If it has a chain does it require any maintenance? I know the engine does not have a serpentine belt.

    It's either timing gears or chain, and no they never need maintenance.

    It uses a chain connected to the crankshaft, both cam shafts, and a chain tensioner. No preventive maintenance required.

    The 2010 also has no alternator belt....
