Thinking about getting the Prius tinted in preparation for summer. I'm pretty picky when it comes to a tint job, rear window needs to be one piece and the film needs to come up to the top of the windows when you roll them down (huge pieve when they cut it 1/2" below the end of the glass), and a given is no bubbles. Any recommendations?

    Thanks!

Mine were just recently done here in Lynchburg, VA. as was another PriusChat member from NOVA at the same shop. Both of us are very happy with the results, but there is an 1/8th inch gap at the top of the window. They do this on purpose to prevent the weather stripping from snagging the edges of the film and tearing it.

ATDofLynchburg.com There's a 10% discount coupon on the site too.

Had my red 200 done while during a time I was looking to buy a house. 30% all around using the best stuff the shop had. My realitor told me the day after I had it done, that my car was not ugly like she remembered. I told her that I just tinted the windows. it makes that much of a difference.

I have noticed that red and black loop especially good tinted but that all colors look much better with metalic based tinting. The tinted windows make the car seem more sporty and less wimpy. While this applies to most cars, it really makes a difference with the prius.

whatever you do, do not have the dealer tint your windows (if you can help it) they charge double and don't always use the high end tint. unfortunatly, dealers in houston are doing everything they can to add margin to the prius since no matter what they add, it will sell.

I'm cool with an 1/8th, you can't see that. How much did you pay if you don't mind me asking?

If you expect perfection with a tint job.....expect to pay premium prices.
Don't let a "mobile" guy work on your car.....

The best tint jobs (imo) are done in shops with closed doors where no contaminents can get inbetween the glass and tint.
Discuss your concerns "before" they work on ur rig, be very clear with your expectations.
Find a quality shop with references and check out the shop area where the work is to be done.

Then keep away from any car washes where they use Windex or other ammonia type products.
