Are these two the same suspension or is one better than the other?

No they are different. TRD Sportivo lowers the car ~1 inch. Think of TRD Sportivo as Touring on steroids.

this is my problem, I have the touring right now, and I want to lower the car about an inch or so, but is the TRD THAT much different than what the touring already comes with (besides lowering it)?? I am just not convinced that it's ~$1500+ (what it costs w/ an install) better..

Has anyone upgraded from the touring to the TRD, and if so can you let us know how much it lowered (did you take an actual measurement?) and can you tell the difference?

    thanks..

I put the TRD S/S on my 2007 Touring Prius - it is about an inch lower. Did the install myself - not really difficult.

    Great directions here:

($1500 is a lot for an inch - it is not THAT obvious - I did it for better handling)

So there is a noticeable difference in handling between the Touring and Sportivo?

I've only driven locally so not sure yet. I also have a Tom's Rear Brace to install (removing the BT Plate - which did make a big difference)

I've had the TRD in my 07 touring edition now for about 2 months- only lowered it about 1" in front and 3/4" in rear- hardly noticable. However, the ride is firmer (not hard) overall and WAY better in cornering- I LOVE it- a big improvement in handling-actually fun to drive!
