Does it have room for an Ipod shuffle?

 

As someone who's done some long distance bicycle touring, I'd say there's all kinds of room. Along with a 'full size' iPod, I could fit a hammock, a stove, a few snacks....

I was intrigued very briefly, until I saw the seating position - I'd much rather be reclining, and out of the weather. Plus, a tilting tricycle would be far more interesting than a four wheeler, although the wheel configuration is interesting. The high-powered graphics would be great for night visibility, but the shiny black would be effective camouflage during the day.

I am intrigued as it may give a motorcycle-like experience but slightly different. Some older bikers lose their sense of balance and must transition to trikes, so this could be an alternative for them. But would really like a hybrid motorcycle with a Prius-like drive train and efficiency.

Reading the press release, it's kind of hard to get a line on exactly what Toyota would intend this machine to be. Other than they want you to know it would be fun.

I'm not opposed or I'm actually intrigued with the idea of a single seat or two seat vehicle that's primary function is just to be "fun". If it's also efficient...so much the better. The caveat would also be that it would have to be cheap enough for me to own and operate, to justify having it as an augmentation to just my vehicle.

But since this machine evidently has no steering wheel, and the one picture has the driver standing up? I'm wondering what the top speed would be...and what environment this machine is designed to function.

 

ah yes . . . . the 3 wheeler . . . . assurance that you never miss a pothole again . . .
but . . . . . when you use the drive thru at McDonald's you'll have to climb out just to reach your big Mac .... you can check for dented rims at the same time ... a win/win !!

I like that toyota is thinking outside the box, although I hate this concept. At first I thought it was an april fools joke, but it was published in March.

does anyone have any any idea why a diamond wheel configuration.

 

In this case, maybe just to be weird. I don't know. I can't see any aerodynamic advantage, especially not with a riding/driving position like that. It would be more stable than a delta tricycle, but that's not saying much. Unless both the front and rear wheels steer, the handling could be awkward.
