cool. i've been watching for a decent die-cast prius on ebay for months but finally stopped because the only ones out there were the junky little 'tomy' ones... thu hunt is back on!
I want to thank Speedracer for the Prius die cast... he did a great job of getting it here so quickly... the car is sooooo neat... if you didn't get one ...Sorry... not only is it a 1/30 scale compared to the 1/60 scale of the tomy (which is a nice die cast as well and the hatch opens)... the doors open and there is a spring loaded (motor) that when you back the car up it runs forward.. TOO COOL... as a larger scale it also has the antenna and outside mirrors.. I think it is funny that it like the Tomy was made it China.. What happened to the toys made in Japan? Again, thank you Speedracer.... Bob Andersen
Who makes these models? I haven't been able to find any web references. Are they Toyota's own promotional items?
Yap This model was handed out to who ever bought Prius in certain period of time... I did not get one  I dont know who makes this diecast... Its like one of European member posted before about Minichamp diecast(in France).. its like that.. Toyota is no plan to sale to general public.
I saw the Minichamps car in the album section... saw that a couple of people had asked the guy who posted the pictures where they could get one, but he had never answered.. I have done a minichamps prius search on Google and an on going eBay search... but have never found anything... As for the Prius speedracer got for me, it has only that it is made for Toyota... and no other markings that I could find.. now I have 3 sizes... the Tomy 1/60...the (speedracer) 1/30... and the one I drive... Bob
Re: Toyota Licenced Diecast "Pearl White" Sold..OT I saw this post on the yahoo...prius_05 board... if you are looking for prius toys.. look at these sites... http://members.lycos.co.uk/asiantoys/prius.htm Here is the link to the main site with lots of other toys of the different Japanese marques. http://members.lycos.co.uk/asiantoys
You all missed one. You must have a friend in Japan as the website for these will not answer you. Yes, they are very tiny 1/150 size. See the quarter next to the Tomica on the left and the Model Planning on the right. No I have three also- Model planning (1/150), Tomica (1/60), and my Silver devil- large- it does use gas while the others get infinate milage...
Dave... I got mine in three days... Speedracer was quick to send me a paypal address.. then a tracking number... great person to do business with... Cathy... the Tomy car is like a Match Box diecast.... liked the other site you posted... but my reading of Japanese is worse than my speaking it.. Japan was my second home in 1963-64, in between trips to the Bay of Tonkin... Bob Andersen
ok cool.. he sent me a tracking number and UPS does say that something was shipped... but there is no delivery date... so it took 3 days? cool... cant wait, im getting a 1/30th model like yours and its TIDELAND PEARL!! an exact match for my big one!!... i also have a tomy but it is silver...also no side mirrors. doors dont open... it will be moved off my desk as soon as my new one comes in!!
