Toyota's Social Media group has posted the first of what could potentially (?) be a small series of videos from our recent Prius Expert visit to Toyota Motor Sales HQ in Torrance, CA.

The video linked is of four of our experts driving the Prius Plug-in Hybrid Vehicle (PHV). You'll see efusco (Evan), TonyPSchaefer, Paradox (Mark), and Linda as they share their experiences during and after the drive.

Wow, and it boils down to a straightforward .mp4 link, publicly
available without having to be an FB member! This is a great step
forward in media accessibility and complexity-reduction, thank you!
    .
Oh, and the video is *very* entertaining, too! Great to see the
community/Toyota relationship really kicking it up a notch here.

That's great! I thought it had gotten awfully quiet around here -- now I know why!

    Great job! :thumb:

I didn't even hear the ICE come on, even when Evan was saying it came on.

Yeah, unless you floor it, or are listening specifically for it, you won't hear it. But you can feel it sometimes. It's easier to just monitor the EV screen to see when it is running (MAN, does it need to be on a BIG HUD in full color! Or at least a centrally top-mounted MFD <cough> <cough>).

We were sitting around a table in the hotel lobby and we realized that Danny, me, Evan, Tideland Prius, Paradox and HTMLSpinnr were all there. For all we knew, PriusChat was up in flames. While we were driving the PHVs I don't think we cared.

Yeah. I heard it and felt it kick in once but that was when he was punching it and the ICE came in. Most of the time - and the entire time I was driving it - it was much more subtle than my 2004 when it switched back-n-forth.

It's barely noticeable. The instant MPG gauge was the only way I knew (that or the HSI monitor switched modes)
