I often wonder how you award a car you can't buy a "car of the year" award. It may be the car of SOME OTHER year, but not this one.

At most it could be awarded something like "Most anticipated car of next year" award, but I agree that it seems illogical to be able to give it an award when it's not available for purchase until next year.

Yeah, I just ran over and checked my calendar...and it's still 2011. And despite the confusing collection of Prius monikers, I was under the impression The Plug In Prius wasn't even available quite yet?

The Plug In Prius could very well end up being the Urban Green Car of 2012...infact it might turn out to be the Urban Green Car of a Decade...but I hate pre-emptive awards. Think we could wait until the vehicle is actually being sold and driven and actually EXISTS in Urban settings- before we start giving it awards?
