Sweet, glad you like them. Time for pics when the driver's side is put in! (Oh and take a comparison shot before you put the driver's side in).

Hmm, and I thought it was just my bulb lol. Yeah the passenger side one shines to the right side quite a bit, eh?

Last night, I took some pics with a cell phone because I forgot my camera. They looked very good on the Sony Erisson S500 screen. I was having trouble transferring it into the PC so I'll post them later tonight. The pics will be a comparison between one OEM and one X-Treme.

I will be changing the remaining bulb and take more pics.

I just installed the driver side bulb and made videos as I progessed. I am sure someone will find it useful and save a lot of time or making it easier.

Part 1/4
- Remove the Relay / Fuse box cover.
- Disconnect the headlamp wire.
- Twist counter-clockwise (unscrew motion) to remove the rubber boot.

Part 2/4
- A view of the removed rubber boot
- A rear view of the bulb and how it is being held.

Part 3/4
- Unclip the lever holding the bulb.

Part 4/4
- How to position the H4 bulb inside the headlamp.

Videos work lol. Perhaps you can repost your post in a new thread in the KB as a DIY-post for changing the headlights?

Thanks usbseawolf2000 for the DIY video instructions!

And a belated thanks to Tideland Prius for the DIY written instructions on page one!

I'm going to give the Philips X-Treme Power lamps a go. I still haven't heard back from Philips as to the projected lifespan of the bulbs. But I'm thinking, what's the worst that can happen? They clearly provide much more light than the OEM halogens. And if it turns out that they wear out too quickly for my tastes and wallet, I'll just pop the OEMs back in.

wow, they're way whiter than I thought lol. Must be the white door reflecting, no?

cause the last picture looks about right in terms of colour.

np.

There is a one year warranty with the bulbs should they go kaput before the year's up. Like I said, if the bulbs fail, you'll hear from me first since mine are used as DRLs so they're pretty much on all the time.

This one is a comparison shot. I am sure you can figure out OEM vs. X-Treme Power.

Yea, my LEDs came out kind of blue too. I had my camera with a manual white balaced. I'll take more pics with another mode.

well I put SilverStars in both cars back in early 2004 and one finally blew on the wifes car 2 weeks ago. bought new ones for both cars and put them in her's. Mine will wait till they blow. I will admit that her's are a lot brighter than mine. Both are DRL's so anytime the car is in Ready the lights are on. I look at it this way, $45 per set divided by 3 is $15 per year. What 4 cents a day.

Yep, you can see it in that photo.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(edbso @ Oct 19 2007, 10:26 PM) </div> That was one that I was leaning towards until I saw the X-Treme Power ones. The Vision Plus ones are also very affordable

Maybe you just have good luck or drive long distances? Cause BOTH sets of Silverstars I had blew out < 12 months. Usually one blows on the 10th month and the other on the 11th month.

Thanks! The video's great --- it shows a visual comparison of the light from your Prius with the X-Treme Power bulbs versus the light from your friend's Prius's OEM bulbs.

The video's a great comparison of the light from your Prius with the X-Treme Power bulbs, and the light from your friend's Prius with the OEM bulbs.

I wanted to let you know that if your friend wants to get the X-Treme Power bulbs and doesn't want to wait a week for delivery from powerbulbs.com, s/he might find them at a Strauss Auto where they're on sale right now thru November 3, 2007 for $40 + sales tax.

I got mine, but haven't installed them yet. Probably going to install the lights next week on the same day that I install a replacement OEM seat cushion cover on the driver's seat ... I accidentally destroyed the seat cushion cover last week while I was semi-racing to the Holy Grail of Manhattan street parking spots: A diagonal (not parallel), white striped, shaded, away from traffic, safe (security guards all around) and free parking spot where I don't have to move the car for two weeks.
