    Hello everyone,

Truly loving the Prius 2010 V, which is the model w/the solar sun roof and upgrades. Have an opportunity of upgrading to a new plug-in model, with no upgrades. Intentionally leaving pricing aside to just discuss core components anyone thinks would be relevant, and a few questions listed below.

    • 3 Hour Charge for 10 miles ~ meaningful?
    • Entune a big upgrade to the 2010 dash system?
    • How involved (and expensive) would it be to install LED headlamps?
    • How involved (and expensive) would it be to install fog lights?
    • 2012 feedback states the daylight glare of the dash being a problem? Worse than 2010?
    • Any specific known issue a) in the 2010 not present in 2012, or b) in 2012 not present in 2010?
    • Homelink has been pretty handy... present in 2012 base plugin?

    Trade Offs
    - No sunroof (we really appreciate and use the sunroof often)
    - True powered leather in the 2010, moving to cloth manual seating. (lumbar missing?)

    Neutrals
    - Nav of the 2010 is so bad that it could go away 100% and that would be considered an upgrade.

:)Might want to hold off until the new Gen 4 Prius comes out. You can decide if the new version is right for you or snag a used 2012-2015 (?) used PIP at a good price.

there is no such thing as a 2012 V plug in. there is a base, and an advanced. if it's cloth manual seat, it's the base model.

What's your daily commute like... distance, local or highway or a combination of both?
    Can you recharge at work?

Re upgrading to LED headlights... probably between $1K-$2k with aftermarket (if available) or off junked Gen III Prius Five. Easier and way less expensive to go with a quality HID kit designed for a Prius.

Without knowing your commute pattern it's hard to say. The car you have now is great and the Plug-In would be somewhat of a downgrade IMO. Unless you have a VERY short commute.

I'd probably wait for the next Gen model. At least see what the production model will be like before you jump into another new car (based on an aged platform).
