I am trying to clear something up for a friend. On a 2005 Prius HB, is it normal for the box around the reverse "R" on the digital dash display to flash when the reverse beep chimes, or should it be a solid square as it is on the drive "D" under normal conditions?

Maybe not so simple after all. Lol. I guess it's one of those things that people just don't notice often? If someone could remember to check next time they are in their car, I'd appreciate it greatly!

    The box flashes in reverse.

Funny, I don't remember. I suppose I'm usually looking the other way when the car's in reverse.

You made me look yesterday. Either it's supposed to flash, or we all have the same problem. ;)
