....It was alright, but it could of been done better. Harmony between Man, Nature and Machine - The Prius Commercial, just begs to be spoofed. I was making fun of it BEFORE all this happened.

But NBC would probably be sued, plus it's a fine line when you are dealing with "humor" involving run-away vehicles and 911 calls.

    I'd give it a C, C+ no better.

Not so funny. It's called perpetuating a myth for profit.

It's called "satire." And to the above post about being sued, satire is protected under the 1st Amendment. Otherwise SNL, Daily Show, and lots of other shows would be sued by everyone they make fun of.

I disagree, I don't think having Toonces driving would have made it funnier. We know Toonces crashes the car every time. The two parts that make it funny are once they're out of control (which would be too predictable with Toonces), and the tag line at the end.

Incidentally, my wife's cat is named "Toonces" and I never let him drive my Prius.

Who creates the titles for these discussion threads? It seems like nearly every commenter here agrees the SNL skit was funny. What didn't the thread creator find hilarious about it? The gall of kicking someone when he (Toyota) is down?
