    so let me get this straight

    theres no place on the tax forms for putting the vehicle's vin number

    i dont have to send in any receipts about the car with the irs?

    and i still get credit?

    (unless i get audited!) heh

    That's correct. Just keep your sales receipt which shows when you took delivery of the vehicle.

    Likewise with all the other deductions. But if you get audited and the find such a blatant fraud you can expect big trouble.

    nah i got a prius, im just disappointed with the lack of entering the vin #
    after all the talk about making sure no one else claimed it, buy it new, etc
    like when u have a kid you cant have more then one person put the kids ss # on thier return

    i was just checking to make sure it wasn't a problem with turbo tax not asking me for it
