So how can you tell the difference between the models? The 06 have pretty unique tail lights that I can spot as being different (no tinted top light), but what else is there? Any insight would be appreciated.
'06 has the chrome on the grill as well. The Millenium Silver and Barcelona Red are '06 only colors. I can't think of anything, off the top of my head, that would immediately distinguish an '04 from an '05 on a cursory glance from the road.
It's Classic Silver, Doc. The 06 also has the HYBRID emblems at the side, a new front lip spoiler and new headlights 04-05 have Tideland Pearl, Salsa Red Pearl and Millennium Silver Metallic. 06 has Barcelona Red, Magnetic Grey Pearl, Classic Silver Metallic and Silver Pine Mica The only way to tell an 05 from an 04 is to look inside. 05 models have two pins on the headliner to keep the headliner from sagging.

Snowbird, the sentence could have been worded better: "The Millennium Silver and Barcelona Red colors are only available on 2006 MY cars." He didn't mean they were the only 2006 colors.
Examine the HID headlights and tail lights on a 2006. Compared to a 2005, you will notice a narrow horizontal row of "reflectors" in both. Not sure what this does, but once you see it, it is distinct.

Tideland Pearl was only '04 and '05 models, Silver Pine Mica is an '06 color. Also, I think the gas gauge and gearshift positions are reversed on the speedometer display.
