how many hv miles out of the 10k? i'm wondering if i can wait until the ice has 10k?

Roughly 8,000 were HV and 2,000 were EV.

thanks, i'm running about 50/50. only 2000 miles in 3 months so i might do my first oil change in 2 1/2 years!

According to the maintenance schedule, the oil should be changed every 12 months regardless of mileage.

interesting, thank you. i wonder why that is? does the oil get contaminated or lose some of it's properties with age? i wonder if the filter should be changed as well.

yep, the oil gets stale, wouldn't hurt to change the filter. If it's your first oil change, some dealers give you your first oil change and filter complimentary. Same thing does for the petrol, Toyota recommends that you fill your gas tank with at least five gallons of new gas at least every six months.
