That's funny, I remember the exact same sentiments the last time there was an upgrade. :) Was that you?

I can't seem to find the 'Mark Forum Read' within the Prius v Forums or it is buried with the 'sub' forum listings.

So far, so good. I think I ran into local server trouble though, probably stuck with old cache. Flushing my own DNS didn't have an effect. Now over at the coffeeshop, it's working fine.

The first impression of the interface is nice too, but then again I work with webstuff professionally. From my Windows 7 machine, the improvements seem helpful but that always had plenty of resolution to work with and a mouse. What I can't wait to find out is how it behaves with the phone... since it looks considerably better... which will really be handy using so much less of a "computer" to interact with... so that will really be appreciated.

Long story short, thanks for all the hard work to provide this update.

That is the best news of the month. Hopefully the idiotic government filter that quashes PC based on a "forum" keyword will
stay bypassed for a long time.

this is the worst forum interface i've seen so far.

the old interface was compressed and easier to read. now there is text all over the place and with too much white space making it hard for your eyes to focus.

i cant find the thread in 2010 prius modification comparing 3 swaybars

the search function doesn't work right. put in the word "swaybar" and select to search all forums and children. it only comes back with one result for the whole site?????

Yep - the point of this thread is bug reports. "Bug" in some of our cases is lack of permissions on the Photos section.

I don't like this. However, I've been around the net for a long time and I cannot remember the last time I did like a forum change. However, in time I get used to it and realize it's better.

FWIW I can tell already this is a thousand times faster than the old forums, but it could be fleeting.

My guess is I and everybody else will eventually get used to this and probably even enjoy it, but I've not spent enough time with it yet. Anyway, I know it's hard deploying software updates, so thanks for the effort!

    Answer my own questions.

If you hit "What's New" it is all the new conversations posted. Button should say "New Messages" but the functionality is there. Nice feature, if you "Mark All Read" you still go back and read "What's New" by posting date.

Don't see that so one would have start marking the threads to be followed.

XenForo says no, the software is "flat", no threaded message option.

I don't hate the new board layout (which, for me, is the ultimate compliment on any new layout).

    Broken link in "Shop"?

If you click the link to the Shop link, you can't get back to the Prius Chat Forum by clicking any of the links. Shouldn't the "Prius Chat Main" take the person back to Prius Chat forum?

Those who were having Photo and Video section problems, Danny seems to have fixed the permissions issues. Your photos should work again.

I just hit some cases of extreme slowness and one of my tabs timed out.

I also noticed that many people (in normal message threads, not this one) are showing up as "New User", including myself. o_O

Also, are there going to be the rich set of smilies that we had before? The set available now is really small.

Re: layout, I agree that the home page is fancy and a bit wasteful of space, but since most of my time is spent reading threads I do not really mind.

The thread view is a pleasure to read; my only small gripe is the large amount of white space that happens with a short comment. This occurs because of the vertical space mandated by the commenters data on the left side of the message. I wonder if that data could be placed at the bottom of the message in a horizontal view to save space. Even better IMO would be to just show the commenter's name, and let a roll-over show the extra data for anyone interested.

I think PriusChat could use a true, real-live chatroom. I know a few online communities/websites that use them and they're tons of fun.

Glad we're all back. Thanks, Danny!:p

A few things while I try to catch up on this thread:
    1. I am starting to agree about the look of this thread and the other threads in the "News" forum. This format is supposed to make the stories (the OP) look more like a traditional news story format, but the commenting doesn't really work in actual practice. In testing, I liked it, but that was with limited #s of posts. I'll see what how I can amend this view to make it easier on the eyes.
    2. Search is down right now. I have not ran an index of the posts because I wanted to see how the server would handle live traffic. I'll probably run the index first thing in the morning.
    3. I'll see what's going on with Tapatalk. It's installed.

Some of the navigation tabs are kind of funky right now. I hope to fix all of that tomorrow. For now, you can use "Mark Forums Read" from the submenu link on the forums homepage (/forum)

Thanks, John. It's always nice to hear feedback from a PCer who has gone through many versions of the site with me.
If you wouldn't mind, could you grab a screenshot and annotate the white space that you are referring to? Some of the white space is on purpose, but others I may not be noticing.

Search will be back up tomorrow.
2 things I need to fix. Thanks, cwerdna. (and thanks for helping to beta test)
    This post made my night.
Good idea, let me take a look into it. I think Tony pointed out during the beta test that each piece of data is on a separate line from it's identifier (for example, "Messages" carriage return "4,543"). I'll see what I can do to clean that up and possibly add something to collapse that data.

I don't know what happened to the "Package" entry.
