What are the easiest to use chargers for HV battery rebuild? Any other reasons to recommend one charger of another? I was thinking of 2 Hitech X4 multi chargers. Any others you think would be better or easier to use?

I've got a pretty awesome $400 one for balancing the entire pack at once.
    Definitely easy.
Way better than doing 28 individual modules one at a time!

Eric, is that just a tease? or do you want to sell me your charger? Do you want me to hire you to rebuild my pack? Do you want to pass on the info for the charger?

It is a tease only in the sense that I won't have any available until Memorial Day weekend. $400 plus shipping.
Charges the pack at a nice, gentle, controlled rate for a full balance.
It remains in the car so that you can re-balance as needed for preventative maintenance.

I briefly mentioned it some other threads but I can't seem to find them right now.

Anyway, once it's officially available I'll post back on this thread.

Not sure I'd have time to rebuild your pack. Where are you located?

Here's a thread I started about balancing the entire pack. It's a technique commonly used for Gen1 Insights and Civic hybrid batteries. Its not considered as good as doing each module, nor will it fix truly bad cells, but its great for the amount of effort involved.

The nice things about the whole pack charger is that you don't have to open up the entire pack. (At least for the Gen 2 Prius.) Just the little top end plate.

Eric, that whole pack charger is nice. It's great that you have come up with a competitive market solution that rebalances in car. Good luck with you venture!

I should make it clear that although I am an authorized reseller, I am not the creator of the product.
It's just a product that I have installed at my shop.

I own other fancier chargers as well. Quite a bit more complex, and even more expensive ($800-$1,000 range) but they do some really cool things like output data to your computer, etc.
