Does anyone know if there is going to be any major changes to the 2011 prius, or heard anything about it, and when it's going to come out? I was told that it would come out in August or September next year.

    Yes!
    • NAV and sunroof/solar will be separate options in 2011.
    • And there will be a special Prius 10th anniversary edition - a V with a limited edition color (I was not able to find out what color), unique 17" wheels and other options including the AT pkg, NAV and the sunroof/solar.
Then again, I might be lying...

Hmm, let me get my crystal ball... Really, anything people may tell you know would be speculation. Heck, the 2010 has been out what 5 weeks? Not that there is anything wrong with guessing but please keep in mind it will all be guesses at this point, or hopes on the part of many like solar and AT combined.

As for when it will be out, I'd lean more towards September than August...

Currently Toyota is selling Versions II, III, IV, and V. I suspect that by the end of this year we'll also see the stripped-down Version I.

As jay_man2 mentioned above "A new color choice or two". (I'd guess generic white among others.)

Maybe external turn signal indicators on the high-end versions (IV & V).

    We'll See.....

Probably different colour combinations and packages. Nothing "big" til the midlife update.

Best guess is it will be released in the normal model year cycle--September of 2010. Anything beyond that is pure speculation.

Don't forget, the 2010 will be an extra long model year.

I am hoping for fog lamps to be an option in package IV for 2011. Then I will be ready to get a new Prius. I hope Toyota is listening to our requests and making them happen.

Fog lights are already standard here on the base model and i-Tech.

I read on the internet that the 2011 model year will include a plug-in, LIon batteries, and a hovercar version.

See there? You read it also!

Can we please get through 2009 first. But on the Prius, if Toyota continue to add more specs., the Prius will become out of reach for the 'ordinary bloke'. When you are trying to convince the population to change there mode of transport to be more environmentally freindly, it needs to be at a price people can afford.

Ok, not quite, but almost. Let's just say if someone tells you they know, um, they're lying.

Yeah, but your speculation is more informed than any of ours. And if you spill it, we are honorable enough to not tattle to your employer about violating your NDAs.

Well, most of us are honorable enough.

my guess is that the Heads Up Display (HUD) will be made available on the Prius like in Europe and Japan... who needs a dash display anyway...

I understand they are going to have a Jim Sikes edition with limited braking capabilities as well as a special balloon deployment mechanism to augment the braking system. I also think it is in magnetic blue and comes with pre filled forms for bankruptcy and insurance claim forms to save you the time when you eventually need to file them. Lastly, it comes with a free one year subscription to an adult swinger's club.

P.S. If I ever saw that guy I'd spit in his face.

Usually the year after a new generation is released there are very few changes, for example take my 2004 Gen II as an example, the 2005 model had a backup camera, and that was about it... I wouldn't expect anything earth shattering until the PHEV model is released.
