There's a hybrid FJ? Sweet. Not that I'd be in the market for a vehicle like that, but they did seem to do a great job on the styling. The right blend of macho, cute, futuristic and retro. Makes an H2 look kind of like a refrigerator or something by comparison.

only problem is rock crawling on an FJ hybrid... HSD can't tow heavy things (hence it'll be a break-through when they come out with the Tundra Hybrid)

FT-HS concept emission is ULEV? Hmmmm.... It will have GS450h powertrain and GS450h is ULEV also. No wonder.

the battery limitation make high torque a problem but can capacitors combined with the traction batteries be used to provide limited bursts of high torque???

from my very limited memory, i seem to remember them storing large amounts of current and the ability to charge and discharge rapidly and often.

either way, i would find it surprising to see Toyota offer this before working out the bugs on it. interesting to see how they go about it.

Hugh? I don't have the book near by, but our Lexus hybrid SUV, the RX-400h ... it can haul / tow a reasonable amount, if I remember correctly.

I don't remember the lbs either. It was mentioned in ClubLexus. But the Tundra is expected to tow more than the RX I would think.
