I just got my Prius IV and was previously a hardcore Honda Fan until my 2006 Ridgeline burned up in an unexplained electrical fire. I'm use to technology, have been spoiled with Japanese electronics and I love the new Prius but have found some obvious shortcomings unless I am just missing them.

The Nav lacks a Calculator or free text entry. The Honda and Acura Nav was equipped with a calculator (very useful), calendar with free text entry and the ability to enter numbers so if you got a call and needed to write a number down you could. That should be an easy development or is it there and I can't find it.

Where is the coin holder? I stuffed my quarters in the curved crease below the cup holder. You can use the trays but the coins will just scratch them up and rattle.

Where is the overhead sunglass holder? Again, you can use the trays but these are common items and holders often (overhead) come made to fit them.

I wish the seat had a memory setting. We have multiple drivers and it sucks to find the right spot after someone else drives.

With that aside, so-far, I LOVE this car. :) Can’t wait to mod it out.

    About 1,000 years of technology?
    A "2" in the front instead of a "1"?
I heard Prius means "to go before" but wow, a thousand years?

I know, I know, another comedian.
    Off to work!

Solar moonroof versions don't have the sunglass holder. Non moonroof versions do.

How much more would a power seat weigh than a non-power? Big issue in a hybrid.

    I'd like to see:
    1) an HD Radio option, and
    2) Outside rear view mirrors with LED turn signal indicators.

I dunno. How much more weight is it? More than a full suitcase or two in the back?
Probably not much more than having rear passengers in the car...which I will rarely-to-never have. Too bad they didn't build their model around my personal needs :)

    1. Turn-signal equipped side view mirrors, which come on all models of the Prius sold in Japan. These should at least be standard on the V.

    2. Better provisions for an easy-on easy-off roof rack system for those of us who want to carry skis, sailborads or kayaks on occasion.

    3. Better storage in the doors.

But I still love my Prius V....

The Prius V - No Moonroof:mad: ... If it did I would have spent the extra cash instead of settling with the Prius IV, too bad. You would think the top model would have everything.

It's one of the rare Toyotas that don't have a coin holder believe it or not. Most others have a small drop-down box near the driver's left knee.

The moonroof versions, oddly enough, don't have an overhead console bin.

Also, there is a memo function. Not sure how it works but there is one.

Here are 3 pics Dave for comparison

    I would like to see:
1.) Ventilated/Massaging (in additioned to heated) seats in the front and back.
    2.) HD Radio (in addition to XM/Analog AM/ Analog FM/AUX/BT/USB )
3.) Front View Cam (and rear view while driving)
    4.) HUD
    5.) Lithium Ion battery
6.) Front Power Seats w/ memory
7.) Rear seat vents w/ controls for A/C and Heat.
8.) Dual Zone Climate Control for front.
    9.) Rear-Seat Entertainment Package w/ Blu-Ray
    10.) 4WD/AWD option
    11.) Power Rear sunshade
    12.) Built in cooler.
13.) Remote Auto Self Destruct Mechanism (Hey you never know when that could be handy. Maybe, if your car gets stolen?).

My 2010 has sunglass holder. Wish it were possible to open hatchback and passenger door via smart key, as it was on our 2006. Wish the glove compartment had a slotted space to hold the owners manual and keep it from sliding around. Wish it were easier to find the MPG, consumption, than it is. wish there were a side door holder wide enough to hold maps. Really don't understand some of these minor changes in the 2010.

I must say from what I have seen of the new 2010 Prius I am very disapointed.
At The US International Auto Show I saw a Maybach and the features in the new 2010 Prius weren't a patch on this car. You would think Toyota would have thought this thing through more thouorghly.
Come on Toyota, if you're going to claim a world class car I think it's time you got with the program. Of course I want all this luxury and 50mpg+.

When will Toyota Motor Company really step up to the plate and start offering a $350,000 car in hybrid form, with 50+mpg and at a sub $30,000 price?
